Business Development Manager (BDM) - based in Northern NSW

KEY CRITERIA & ATTRIBUTES
• Capable of being the face of Shearwell in Northern NSW
• Engaging personality that can work remotely and remain connected within a small team
• Livestock industry knowledge, experience and networks
• Ability to effectively promote and communicate with producers about products and concepts
• Ability to assess issues and solve practical problems important to livestock producers
• Understanding of sales methods and use of Microsoft computer applications
DESIRABLE CRITERIA & ATTRIBUTES
• Agribusiness sales experience in Australia
• Knowledge and skills in livestock identification, the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) and traceability
• Practical knowledge of livestock handling equipment and management software ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
• Current ‘C’ class drivers’ licence and capacity to travel extensively.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Actively promote and sell Shearwell products.
2. Effectively communicate the benefits of Shearwell Australia Pty Ltd (SAPL) products and offers to producers and retailers as a leading manufacturer and seller of identification tags, eID equipment and management products.
3. Raise brand awareness across Australia.
4. Be an effective and engaged member of the SAPL Sales Team and contribute to weekly meetings.
5. Travel widely and engage with the SA livestock sector.
6. Assist with the development and provision of relevant information about SAPL products and services.
7. Identify customers and potential new business in the regions we operate.
8. Identify roadblocks or hurdles to growth for SAPL sales.
9. Attend field days, shows and industry events as a representative of SAPL. Where required, speak publicly on behalf of SAPL.
10.Create and maintain potential customer database and communication.
11.Drive positive promotion of SAPL as a preferred supplier of livestock tagging and EID products direct to producers.
12. Facilitate ongoing feedback from the producers to improve SAPL products and services.
13. Ensure customers are fully supported in the use of SAPL products.
14. Keep informed of changes in government identification policies and legislation.
15.Maintain clear communication with your Manager and ensure reporting requirements are adhered to.
OTHER DUTIES
1. To carry out any other duties as required by your Manager.
2. Ensure timelines and quality standards are met at all times.
3. To deal efficiently and politely with customers.
4. Act commercially in the best interests of SAPL.
5. To treat customers and colleagues with respect at all times.
6. To adhere to Company Terms and Conditions of employment as outlined in your contract and The SAPL Employee Handbook.
7. To uphold the good name of Shearwell Data at all times.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. Maintain high level of knowledge of competitors position in the market place and pricing.
2. Maintain high level of knowledge of competitor products.
3. Frequency, detail and turnaround times on reporting sales activity and leads back to Manager.
4. Customer satisfaction levels and positive customer feedback.
5. Customer enquiries responded to the same day or next business day.
6. Create annual growth at the rate agreed with your Manager.
7. All potential customers must be entered into the customer database.
8. Weekly report to be sent to your Manager each week.
OTHER INFORMATION
• The BDM will be provided with a SAPL sign-wrapped dual cab ute for business use only.
• The BDM will be expected to work from their residence or other such premises that SAPL provides.
