Symbio Laboratories is looking for an Environmental industry specialist in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne to join our team as a Business Development Manager (BDM). 

This fast-paced and hands-on role will be tasked with identifying, developing and managing both current and new business opportunities, by engaging in sales and marketing growth activities across a wide customer base.

The BDM will need to work with the broader sales team to jointly deliver on strategic initiatives that facilitate customer retention, as well as developing and implementing the immediate and long-term strategies of the company to drive national growth. 

Your key responsibilities:

• Identify, develop and manage new profitable business opportunities, including actively making sales calls and visits to prospective and existing clients;
• Represent Symbio at trade fares and seminars to build your sales pipeline and attract new clients;
• Generate, bid and secure tender opportunities, and convert company generated leads;
• Ensure timeliness of interactions, and provide the highest standard of customer service;
• Meet the established KPIs of lead generation, pipeline, on-boarding, and more;
• Provide available market intelligence by monitoring competitors' activity, new issues and trends across industries;
• Drive continuous learning and seek to expand your knowledge of Symbio's testing capabilities.

ABOUT YOU

You will need to be energetic and proactive, with the ability to effectively engage with other businesses to drive new and existing testing services across the four major market sectors, with specific focus on environmental. Our ideal candidate would have a science background, coupled with sales experience and a strong network of industry contacts.

Preferred qualifications and skills include:

• 3-5 years in a sales or Business Development Manager role,
• Competent use of customer databases/CRM software,
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills,
• Formal qualifications in Environmental Science, and experience with analytical testing (microbiological and chemical) in the food, agriculture and environmental industries will be highly regarded.
