Founded in 1984 with a single fibre optic cable, they now manufacture over two thousand products, employ over 5,000 associates, and consistently generate annual sales over a billion dollars in revenue. Employing over 140 staff in Oceana, they have offices in each major capital city and operate two optical fibre manufacturing facilities.
As the Business Development Manager - Industrial, you will identify and pursue new business opportunities and cultivate relationships within an existing portfolio of customers in the mining space.
Reporting to a supportive manager who embraces teamwork, you will have the operational support and resources to equip you to deliver results.
In the role, you will:
- Formulate and execute account management strategies to strengthen business relationships with customers
- Gather product specifications and requirements from customers
- Work with Product Managers and the Internal Sales Support team to develop product and service offerings
- Present proposals, contractual documents, and technical product information to customers
- Work with the National Manager to develop annual and multi-year sales plans for target markets
- Provide regular reporting on customers revenue and potential growth
To be successful, you must have:
- Proven Business Development experience in industrial/mining, preferably with cable or telecommunications experience.
- Solutions selling experience with an ability to create value propositions that strengthen business relationships
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with an ability to manage multiple business relationships across major projects
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge
