ZEISS ANZ has an excellent opportunity for a dynamic professional to join the Medical team (MED) in a Business Development Role for the Microsurgery (MCS) portfolio. The MCS portfolio is a strategically critical component of the ZEISS MED business, it encompasses operating microscopes and diagnostic equipment used across Neurosurgical, Spinal, ENT, Plastics and Dental disciplines.

In this role the Business Development Manager, will be responsible for building on our market leading position and identifying new areas for growth and development. The chosen candidate will play the leading role in converting global strategies and product launches into local sales tactics & marketing activities. Working alongside a strong group of sales professionals, the BDM will create go-to-market strategies for a strong cadence of new product launches across a range of clinical disciplines and product categories.

The successful candidate will have outstanding strategic commercial experience and experience working in the healthcare sector. We will consider candidates from most major capital cities within Australia.

The key responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):
  • Recommending which markets to compete in (where to compete)
  • Identifying what the basis of ZEISS’s competitive advantage is going to be (how to compete)
  • Shape when and how ZEISS may enter each market, including new segments (when to compete) in order to ensure best competitive position for ZEISS and the efficient use of marketing resources
  • Sustained lead generation within targeted market segments
  • Developing strong working relationships with expert users.
  • Report state of sales funnel, market development, market opportunities, threats and risks
The key skills required for this role include:
  • University degree in business, healthcare or marketing or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 4 years of successful sales, marketing or application experience preferably within the healthcare industry
  • Proven successful KOL engagement experience
  • Excellent team building, teaching and motivation skills are required
  • Ability to deliver corporate level presentations
  • Compelling written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced planning & organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks & adapt to change

Prior experience & success within medical marketing, applications and/or surgical sales will be viewed favourably. Further, a dynamic, strategic approach to the business and a passion for the healthcare industry to drive and motivate a team will be the key to your success in this senior medical Business Development role.
