Our client is an established Australian company designing, supplying, installing and maintaining Fire and Smoke Protection Systems to a wide range of government and commercial clients. They are at the industry forefront providing leading edge technology to Hospitals, Aged Care Facilities, Airports, Cinemas. Shopping Centres and Warehouses. Our client is well established with offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
They are now seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager to develop strategic growth opportunities in NSW, QLD and ACT.
About the Role
The Business Development Manager will use their solid sales background and technical knowledge of the Fire Industry to provide advice, attract new customers and spread market knowledge of Fire and Smoke Protection Systems. Initially the role will be responsible for sales planning, market intel and identifying potential new customers across a number of industries. The BDM will also educate specifiers, builders and potential customers on the product and its application, growing a solid customer base and closing the deal using a ‘consultative’ sales style. The role will require interstate travel visiting potential clients, giving presentations as well as providing pre- and post-sales advice. This role is an integral member of an experienced, high performing and supportive company.
You Will Bring
- Enthusiasm, ambition, optimism and a growth mindset
- A hunter style approach to sales and Business Development, capable of building a strong sales pipeline
- A proven track record of new Business Development and sales growth, closing sales with builders providing commercial and industrial construction
- Proven track record of gaining specifications with architects, consultants, fire engineers and specifiers
- Sound understanding of commercial construction and ability to read drawings, ideally with Fire or other associated building products and/ or systems background
- Demonstrated drive and ability to proactively build relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills with a professional appearance and approach
- Ability to comprehend technical information related to the product and its potential application across a number of industries.
- Experience selling Fire products and Fire Product Industry knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of Fire and Smoke Curtains, Automated Fire Doors, Fire and Smoke Glazing and Ventilation advantageous.
