InvestmentMarkets (IM) is an interactive compendium for investment products for self-directed High Net Worth Investors (HNWIs). It is a well-funded fintech start-up with strong growth trajectory. IM has the big and audacious goal of becoming the dominant investment platform in the Australian investment space. The double-sided platform has a wide variety of target audiences. Its primary B2B clients are fund managers, other financial product issuers and SMEs seeking growth capital. Its B2C clients are HNW investors.
The Role:
Due to ongoing growth within the business, we are hiring a Business Development Manager to expand our portfolio of B2B clients. This role represents an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to enter this exciting new business, with it reporting to the National Sales Director. You must be up for the challenge of a fintech start-up with giant aspirations to become Australia’s investment central. The role is responsible for generating new business via cold calling/emailing and engaging potential new clients. You will be targeting all asset classes within the Wealth Management segment and dealing with MDs, CEOs, Distribution Manager and Marketing Managers.
You must be able to communicate the value of our services to both the investment product owners and other related business decisions makers. You'll be driving your own success and managing your own portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for the entire sales cycle from outbound prospecting through to obtaining the necessary onboarding requirements. You will primarily be contacting and speaking to the potential clients via phone and Teams/Zoom with occasional in person meetings.
You will be responsible for:
- Generating new leads through cold calling/emailing prospective clients to promote our services, and to arrange and complete a Demonstration with the intention of having them agree to list their products on the platform.
- Working closely within the Sales team to achieve Business Sales objectives.
- Manage and record all interactions with clients, including recording sales and Creating/Updating/Maintaining customer contact details etc. in the CRM, i.e., HubSpot.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process whilst building and managing your sales pipeline and targets.
- Attending and participating in regular sale meetings.
- Generate and provide sales reports when required.
- Reviewing your own performance aiming to exceed targets.
- Keeping up with the latest industry developments, including but not limited to compliance, market positioning of corporate competitors.
- Prospect and identify new opportunities to build and maintain a healthy pipeline via Researching organisations and individuals within those organisations.
- Develop a strong understanding of target clients, products and competitors.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and sell to multiple buyers within an organisation.
- Exceed assigned sales objectives and quarterly targets.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role will be hungry to hunt down new business and have a strong level of communication. You must be highly organised and polished as you will be responsible for maintaining and building new relationships with potential new clients. To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Proven, measurable, and successful experience as a "hunter" in the Financial Services industry (minimum 3+ years’ experience in the B2B sales capacity – new business) by creating and growing a client base.
- Ability to develop and manage a high volume of opportunities.
- Must be motivated, dedicated and a self-starter.
- Must have a verifiable history of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience using CRM, e.g., HubSpot.
- You have excellent oral and written skills and a proven ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation including executives and C-level.
- Excellent time management and relationship building skills. You are not a clock watcher.
- A strong welcoming presence over the phone.
- Able to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
- Results oriented while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
