As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving Wholesale Forwarding sales and conducting development activities within the Australian market to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
Your primary objective will be to identify and secure new business opportunities, foster strong relationships with freight forwarding customers, and position our wholesale ocean freight services as the preferred choice for customers looking for strength on the Asian and USA trades.
You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop tailored logistics solutions that meet customer needs and maximize profitability.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Business Development:
- Identify and target potential freight forwarding customers who have shipping requirements between the USA, Asia and Australia.
- Generate leads, conduct market research, and analyze industry trends to develop a comprehensive sales strategy in your assigned region.
- Proactively reach out to prospects, build relationships, and promote our freight forwarding services, emphasizing our competitive advantages and value proposition.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Serve as the main point of contact for existing customers within the trade lane, nurturing relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Understand customer requirements, logistics challenges, and shipping patterns to develop customized solutions that meet their needs.
- Regularly communicate with customers to provide updates on services, address concerns, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
- Sales and Revenue Generation:
- Use your knowledge and network within the Australia forwarding landscape, to achieve and exceed sales targets by actively pursuing new business opportunities and securing long-term contracts.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and quotations to potential customers, showcasing our capabilities and value-added services.
- Collaborate with pricing and finance teams to develop competitive pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining attractive to customers.
- Trade Lane Analysis and Market Intelligence:
- Monitor and analyze the market dynamics, including competition, pricing trends, and customer demands, to identify potential areas for growth.
- Provide regular reports on trade lane performance, sales activities, and market trends to management, highlighting opportunities and challenges.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations, customer service, and pricing, to ensure smooth execution of shipments and seamless customer experience.
- Be comfortable reporting to the Directors and shareholders.
Collaborate with global offices, agents, and partners to leverage synergies, expand reach, and deliver comprehensive logistics solutions. You will be involved in the growth of our LCL product portfolio and the development of our LCL and FCL products ex USA.
