METTLER TOLEDO, the world’s largest manufacturer of weighing equipment, has an opportunity for an energetic experienced person to join our Sydney office in the role of Business Development.

This is a field-based role, and as such it is envisioned that your time will be spent within the marketplace. The current sales territory for this role is NSW and ACT, and the current client base include a few key dealers but the majority of work is B2B to the end users or through their selected EPC. In addition to your geographical territory, you will work on selecting strategic key accounts to focus on and penetrate into. Your territory and strategic key accounts may change depending on the market situation.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Gain product and application knowledge through MT training and using ones’ own initiative so that over time you become NSW/ACT’s Subject Matter Expert for the VEH SBU.
- Achieve set and agreed annual sales and margin budget
- Maximise your time in front of existing & potential clients by effective territory management
- Update, improve and increase accurate data in the CRM by being CRM compliant
- Nurture existing clientele to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat orders
- Following up leads within 24 hrs in accordance with the company matrix
- Providing a consultative sales approach to the Weighbridge clientele
- Actively seek opportunities for cross-divisional selling and meet quarterly cross lead KPI
- Preparing quotations in a timely manner to present to prospective clientele
- Facilitate superior sales calls to key accounts
- Work closely with projects once an order is secured
The ideal candidate will have the following to qualify for this first class opportunity:
- Excellent presentation skills and communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft office products
- High energy and proven self-motivation
- Able to demonstrate a successful track record in Business Development
- Hard-working nature and "hunter" approach to sales and doesn't take No for an answer
- Ability to network at high level, including building and maintaining strong business relationships
- Experience working within Transport and Logistics
