With more than 30 years of history, Wakefield Sports + Exercise Medicine Clinic (WS+EMC) is a recognised leader in providing comprehensive sports, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy and sports medicine care to people of all ages and all activity levels.
  
About the Opportunity:
WS+EMC are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic business leader with exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills. The successful candidate will drive business growth and ensure operational excellence in line with organisational objectives.
  
Reporting directly to the Practice Directors/owners, this is a true Generalist Role (spanning across Business Development, Finance, Operations, Compliance and HR) with the potential ability to grow into a General Manager position. Reporting into this role is a Practice Manager (who oversees reception and administration) and Bookkeeper (who also carries out payroll). This position also works closely with external partners for Finance, IT and HR.
  
Key Responsibility Areas:
  • Strategic Planning – In conjunction with the Directors, ensure the business has a clear and defined strategic vision and operational plan and lead planning and implementation of key strategic change initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence - To oversee and drive the effective management of the business operations, to ensure optimum productivity and profitability of the business.
  • Monitor Performance - Closely monitor Practice performance with Directors and make recommendations for ongoing improvement. Analyse and develop business cases for financial investment and capital expenditure.
  • Engaged Team – Ensure workforce engagement by establishing a culture of high performance and professionalism.
  • Financial Management - Oversee strategic financial management and provide accurate financial reports and budget management.
  • Marketing / Business Development - Develop and execute marketing/business development plans for services.
  • Client Engagement - Lead the development and implementation of innovative clinical service structures to enhance client experience.
  • Staff utilisation - Review and manage practice opening hours, appointment schedules, leave and rosters in order to improve service value, drive demand and maximise efficiencies.
  • Partnerships - Expand growth opportunities through leveraging existing partnerships, as well as establishing new partnerships with schools and other sports organisations.
  • HR Support – manage people processes within the business including performance review processes, onboarding and recruitment decisions.
What you look like and need to demonstrate to be successful:
  • At least 5 years prior experience in a similar position and exposure to leading a small team (supporting around 50+ team members).
  • Strong business generalist across finance, operations and business development.
  • Strong leader and developer of team, values and culture.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Strong relationship builder.
  • Likes to be creative and do things differently to stand out in a positive way.
  • Excellent implementer.
  • Lead by example, exhibiting integrity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
  • Hands on in identifying and seizing opportunities for growth and improvement within the organisation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work and decision-making.
  • Prior experience working with busy and/or multi-disciplinary Practices viewed favourably.
