About This Opportunity
The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing a high standard of administrative support to QCIF’s executive managers and their groups. The responsibilities will span the breadth of the QCIF organisation, providing opportunities for exposure to all the services and solutions that QCIF delivers. You’ll be required to ‘chip in’ right across the company and are expected to exercise pragmatism in a highly dynamic environment, and often face ambiguity requiring sound judgement.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Finance
- Prepare and process financial and business forms
- Send and follow up invoices
- Check expense and travel claims for accuracy and required tax invoice receipts
- HR
- Assist with the preparation and processing of employment contracts
- Monitor and maintain a contract register
- Assist with policy and process development and implementation
- General Administration
- Organise staff travel, booking of flights and accommodation
- Attend events and conferences upon request
- Assist with the maintenance of registers and tracking spreadsheets
- Executive Assistance
- CEO diary management
- Proactively prepare briefs / agendas etc., ahead of meetings
- Provide broad assistance to the QCIF executive team
Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Relevant qualifications / experience in Business / Administration.
- Experience as an all-round administrative Support Officer, including finance, HR, project management, event organisation and general office duties in a higher education and/or research environment.
- Excellent written communication skills, including experience preparing and reviewing reports and presentations with minimal direction.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft 365, including Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Teams and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated professionalism, strong work ethic, integrity, diplomacy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritise own workload, work independently and within a flexible team environment, and meet deadlines.

Location
The Business Support Officer will work both from home and from the University of Queensland as directed by QCIF.
Term
This position is offered as a Full-time 12-month Fixed Term contract with possible extension.
