About the Role
This role provides an exciting opportunity to support the dynamic and high performing Strategic Planning team. The team is responsible for developing and implementing land use and development planning policy and providing specialist urban design and heritage advice to internal and external customers.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Strategic Planning, the core responsibilities include:
- Provide timely and effective administrative support to the Strategic Planning team and Team Leader.
- Provide excellent customer service to members of the public and colleagues through the Strategic Planning project and planning scheme amendment process.
- Maintain processes and procedures to ensure compliance with the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other legislative requirements.
- Coordinate the administration of planning scheme amendments, planning projects, community engagement sessions and Planning Panel hearings.
- Provide efficient and accurate data entry using the organisation’s corporate data base systems.
- Perform administrative duties including answering phone calls, electronic record keeping, preparing mailouts, raising purchase orders, organising and minuting meetings and any other administrative duties as required.
About You
- Demonstrated experience providing administrative support to a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of programs and other Information Management Systems software programs (such as Tech 1)
- Initiative to learn, develop and maintain computerised systems, procedures and processes.
- Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships.
- Experience in local government or other complex and/or political organisations and understanding of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Planning Scheme amendment process is desirable.
