About the role
2 x Permanent full-time roles based in Albury; however, both will require some travel to Deniliquin.
Woomera Aboriginal Corporation are currently seeking motivated and empathetic Carer Compliance and Support Officers to support our carers in the PSP Program in Albury and Deniliquin. Under the direction of the PSP and FPP Team Leader, the role has primary responsibility for maintaining accurate and compliant records, ensuring carer probity checks are undertaken, as well as managing and facilitating carer recruitment, training, and Support. The Carer Compliance and Support Officer will work closely with the PSP Case Workers in maintaining and Supporting placements of children in Out of Home Care.
The candidates would also be responsible for maintaining current records of all WWCC, National Police Checks and Community Service Checks for carers as well as always uphold and adhere to legislated Child Safe Standards.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Qualifications in Community Services (Min. Cert IV) or related field and/or relevant experience and knowledge in working in the OOHC sector
- Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive assessment reports
- Strong organisational skills, able to multi-task and prioritise
- Demonstrated experience in utilising client management systems
- Experience working within Aboriginal communities and/or have an understanding of Aboriginal culture
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, proven experience in record management, and the ability to problem solve, negotiate, and resolve concerns and conflict.
- Ability to work in a team, follow direction and learn, is motivated to take on challenges with minimal direction
- A current satisfactory NSW Working with Children’s Check
- A current satisfactory National Police Check
- A current driver’s license
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience and Qualification in Step-By-Step Training Assessment Tools OR willingness to obtain qualification
- Previous experience working with carers and/or have an understanding of the carer experience.
