The Role:
Visy Logistics is one of Australia’s largest independent transporters of containerised freight, which includes its significant international freight forwarding operation. In addition to servicing Visy’s internal businesses, we leverage the scale of our operations to provide competitive and innovative international sea freight services to our growing customer base.
The Cartage Operations Coordinator will work closely with our Import and Export teams and provide support with all transport matters. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be focused on coordination of FCL and LCL cartage.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Manage day-to-day service and expectations of customers
Chase e-Dos and assign to nominated Transport carriers prior to ATA
Liaise with other freight forwarders and shipping lines regarding charges and arrange payment for ad-hoc vendors to obtain e-Dos.
Liaise with external vendors, such as our existing transport providers and other wharf / freight depots
Liaising with clients regarding their deliveries
Chasing up empty container returns to ensure detention charges are not incurred
Check and approve cartage costs & billing when required
Use CargoWise to update and maintain delivery status and milestones
Work closely with the Import & Export Operations/Customer Service/Customs teams to communicate any updates for their customers
What you will bring to the team:
Solid experience within the Freight Forwarding & FCL, LCL Freight Transport sector
Sounds knowledge in local reporting and compliance (Customers CMR, Rail Tagging, 1 Stop, Under bond movements. Etc)
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with all stakeholders
Be a highly motivated, driven and organised individual who masters the art of prioritising
Ability to work as a team and autonomously
