We are an orthopaedic surgery clinic specialising in the lower limb and are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary to join our team. We pride ourselves on providing a high quality, approachable and efficient service to patients.
Reporting to the Practice Manager and Mr Jeffcote medical administration duties will include the following:
- Reception, including responding to telephone calls and emails and greeting patients
- Preparing and coordinating busy patient clinics
- Managing patient appointments in accordance with appointment protocols
- Patient account management including invoicing, receipting and debt collection
- Managing electronic correspondence including maintaining patient records
- Theatre bookings, liaising with anaesthetists, hospitals and other surgeons
- Preparing hospital admission and surgery documentation
- Audio-typing
- Medico-legal and Workcover report preparation and completion
- General admin tasks
Successful applicants must have:
- previous medical reception experience
- strong verbal and written communication
- strong interpersonal skills and a passion for fostering a positive work environment
- intermediate to advanced Windows and Apple Mac skills (we are a paperless clinic)
- strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills
- strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- fast and accurate audio-typing skills
- the ability to uphold our company values (transparency, efficiency, environmental awareness, consideration, community)
