Job description
- Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to the established recipes and standards.
- Manage a specific section of the kitchen, such as grill, sauté, pastry, or cold foods, ensuring efficiency and quality output.
- Coordinate with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to plan and execute daily menus, specials, and promotions.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies for your section and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in your section of the kitchen, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
- Assist with food cost control measures, such as portion control, minimizing waste, and proper storage practices.
- Collaborate with other members of the culinary team to develop new recipes, techniques, and menu items.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP standards.
- Handle customer inquiries, special requests, and dietary restrictions courteously and professionally.
