Reporting directly to the CEO, the CRAO directs the Financial & Assurance Services Division to promote and deliver sustainable business, assurance and contemporary regulatory practices and ensures a strong and effective risk management culture across the organisation. The role has significant scope, including oversight and responsibility for the RTA's Regulatory and corporate assurance functions, including compliance and enforcement, governance, risk, corporate compliance legal, government relations, finance as well as board secretariat and strategic and operational planning functions. This role will advise and assist the organisation in the successful performance and delivery of its corporate, Regulatory and strategic objectives and seek to deliver for both internal and external stakeholders. As such, this role presents an exciting opportunity for a proven leader in these areas to play a central role in the RTA's ongoing ability to deliver within an evolving Regulatory and political landscape.
The successful candidate
You will be a values-led leader with prior experience in a similar role. Your key competencies will include the following capabilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution: specifically around areas including assurance, risk, financial, compliance and enforcement
- Leading Through Change: Adapt flexibly to changing government, organisational, and community expectations, systematically introducing required changes
- Building Enduring Relationships: Navigate contentious and sensitive situations, managing relationships effectively both internally and externally, ideally with exposure to stakeholders within Government
- Excellent Communication: Capable of both creating compelling cases to influence decisions and translating complex information into readily understood messages
- Driving Accountability and Outcomes: Keep a finger on the pulse, responding promptly to emerging issues and shifting resources as needed
- Pursuing Continuous Growth: Cultivate self-awareness, reflect on your performance, and grow as a sector leader
