The Role
As an Insurance Trustee Specialist, you’ll deal with death claims, terminal illness and total and permanent disability claims made by our members. You’ll be taking and making some tough calls from members, their relatives, lawyers and having to review and assess some challenging circumstances, but we’ll be sure to give you all the right training to make sure you are set up for success. We’ll also teach you family law down the track, but it’s on the job learning and there are training guides to follow.
In addition to the above, you will also:
- Manage and respond to complex trustee complaints in accordance with complaint management policy
- Independently review declined insurance claims on behalf of the Trustee
- Assist and empathise with customers who may be experiencing hardship
- Build and maintain relationships with members, beneficiaries, advisers, solicitors, external and internal suppliers.
- Deliver quality customer service as per agreed service standards
- Diligently manage the assessment of portfolio of claims, Family Law matters, underwriting applications and requests for review of contributions types for refund and reclassifications.
- Review and proposed decisions a in timely manner to reduce likelihood of compensation requests or double payments
- Have the opportunity to identify and propose improvement initiatives
What we are looking for in an ideal candidate:
- Proven experience in a similar role within Insurance or Superannuation industry
- Exposure to Life Claims Assessing
- Family Law knowledge and underwriting experience would be beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with others collaboratively and deliver agreed outcomes on time and on budget with an exceptional level of quality
- Structured, process oriented with a focus on consistent high quality and accuracy
- Can do attitude and willingness to learn
