The Atherton Travellers Park in conjunction with Rock Ridge Farming is seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a cleaner with a small amount of receptionist work. It is important to realise this is a mixed and varied role WITH MOSTLY CLEANING. The successful applicant must be able and be happy to do both roles and transition between the two multiple times a day if required. We do have a receptionist on staff 4 days a week so it this position would usually only consist of Fridays in reception and 4 days cleaning. Having said this, you would be expected to do up to 38hrs a week in reception if and when required.
The Atherton Travellers Park is a beautiful and serene caravan park located just 2 minutes from the center of Atherton, we host many short-term, long-term and returning guests throughout the year creating a great sense of community at the park. We pride ourselves on being a great place to stay and hope that the successful applicant will help us uphold this reputation. As we are affiliated with Rock Ridge Farming, we provide accommodation for seasonal workers from the Pacific Islands. As a part of your day-to-day role you will be in communications with the Rock Ridge Farming office and the seasonal workers.
The position will be Monday to Friday and the hours would like the following (and will be paid on a casual basis as per the hospitality award)
- Monday 8.00am to 2 pm (Cleaning at Atherton Travellers Park)
- Tuesday 8.00am to 2pm (Cleaning at Atherton Travellers Park)
- Wednesday 8.00am to 5.00pm (Reception at Atherton Travellers Park)
- Thursday 8.00am to 2.00pm (Cleaning at Atherton Travellers Park)
- Friday 8.00 to 2pm/5pm (Cleaning at either Rock Ridge Packhouse or on Farms).
Your duties will include, but may not be limited to:
- Cleaning rooms.
- Changing bedding configuration with some assisted heavy lifting.
- Changing linen on beds.
- Cleaning common facilities and amenities.
- Answering phone calls and responding to emails.
- Taking bookings and entering them into our booking’s software.
- Greeting guests and completing the check-in process.
- Taking payments (both EFTPOS and cash).
- Counting and re-floating tills.
- General upkeep of the reception area.
- Organising and assisting the cleaning staff.
- Ordering Linen and Supplies.
- Arranging for tradespersons to attend to repairs and maintenance.
- General office and staff amenity cleaning both at Rock Ridge Packhouse and on farms as required.
About the successful applicant:
- Will have great people skills and provide great customer service for all residents and visitors
- Will be culturally sensitive and enjoy dealing with people of different nationalities
- Will have great time management skills and be able to work independently
- Will be confident in resolving conflicts and problem solving – be able to address people about complaints and mediate if need be
- Be physically able to perform cleaning duties for 5-6 hours per day, with high attention to detail
- Have a good attitude and be willing to help with odd jobs around the park when needed
- Hold a current driver’s licence – preferably manual
- Be looking for long term employment of at least 8 months
Although experience is not required as we will provide training for the right candidate, a current first aid and CPR certificate and previous reception or admin experience will be highly considered.
