Commercial Finance Manager - Consumer Goods - CBD
Company Background
Our client is a multinational consumer goods brand that enjoys a terrific reputation in their field. As a well-established leader in their sector globally, they have recently launched their operations here in Sydney, Australia. With a portfolio of desirable household products sold around the globe, coupled with their driven culture, our client is building a local enterprise that will be second to none.
They have offices based in Sydney CBD and are looking to continue their growth in market share. This is a position which is well suited to an individual looking to play a significant role and make an impact.
The Role
Sitting within a matrix structure, but ultimately reporting to the Global CFO and the local Managing Director, this heavily analysis focused role has been created to work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and other channels to help them better understand their profitability and opportunities for growth. Although based in Sydney, it has regional focus across ANZ and Asia. More specifically this will involve;
- Manage Sales/Product/Marketing profitability including margin analysis on current portfolio and customer mix as well as new products, pricing, and initiatives
- Support global Director / Head of Sales & Category Controlling
- Business partner with cross-functional teams to aid strategic decision making and provide value-add insights
- Provide regular management performance reviews and monitor the achievement of strategic targets & operative business KPIs
- Manage/coordinate local/regional planning and forecasting processes, templates & schedules, develop planning tools and communicate targets
- Plan, forecast, and monitor capital investments and review post-investment ROI
- Streamline processes - eliminate non-strategic, obsolete, or redundant structures
- Assess risks and opportunities and initiate risk mitigation measures
To be considered for this Commercial Finance Manager ideally you would:
- Strong accounting, analysis, and reporting experience
- Have worked within a product-based environment such as FMCG or Consumer durables, either B2B or B2C
- Have worked closely with Sales and Product teams, and feel comfortable being able to push back and drive behavioural changes
- Be happy to work in standalone role, whilst supported by the global finance team
