About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing, successful and well-respected law firm based in our Melbourne office.
We are seeking a commercially savvy and client centric Associate Partner with a minimum 7 years PAE to join our Commercial team.
The role is somewhat flexible and for the right person will be tailored to best suit your skill set and preferred areas of commercial practice.
Some of the areas in which the commercial team currently practices are:
- Drafting, review and amendment of the full range of commercial agreements, including terms of trade, heads of agreement, corporate advice, employment agreements, distribution agreements, licensing, trademarks
- Shareholder / Partnership advice
- Franchising
- Business Sale / Purchase
Due to the skillset of the team, all front-end commercial leasing work is also carried out by this team.
Our work is obtained through a combination of our firm marketing efforts and through referral.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on various general commercial related matters with minimal supervision due to your experience and skill
- Contribution to business development and marketing activities
- Acting for property owners in relation to sales and acquisitions of commercial, industrial, residential and other properties
- Advising on complex leasing and licensing matters
- Drafting various types of agreements
- Time recording and billing.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7 years PAE and commercial experience
- Excellent technical and drafting skills
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with others quickly
- Detail orientated with excellent written and verbal skills
- The ability to convert prospects into clients as an adjunct to your own client following
- An innovative problem solving mindset with strong research skills
- An exceptional work ethic
