About the Role:

MPC Kinetic is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Project Team, based in the Brisbane Support Office. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for the efficient and effective contract management, maintenance of commercial activities and processes to enable the project to execute the Scope of Works and monthly reporting obligations. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive commercial strategies to support the achievement of the project's business plan. 
• Provide guidance to the Project Manager to identify and manage the rights and obligations under the contract. 
• Ensure the Project Team are briefed and consulted on contractual risks and opportunities and obligations. 
• Management of guarantees and securities. 
• Oversee project procurement activities including tendering, due diligence, supplier selection and ongoing assessment of supplier performance. 
• Manage the subcontractor contract negotiation function for the project and assist with plant subcontracts. 
• Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project goals, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement. 
• Provide high quality and timely advice and reports to Project Management, including financial and non financial commentary.
• Lead the site commercial and project controls team to deliver 'industry best practice' commercial systems and support.
• Assist the Project Manager in reporting to MPK Senior Management on commercial matters and attend monthly CVR meetings.

About You:

• Minimum 5-10 years relevant industry experience 
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce or accounting
• Significant experience in commercial and contractual activities
• Strong financial and reporting skills 
• Understanding of the Construction process
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Accurate and great attention to detail
• Deliver on results and manage stakeholder expectations
