The Communications Coordinator will work closely with the CEO to tell the exciting story of our growing region, develop engaging media content and advocate for the needs of our business community. What are the responsibilities of the role?
- To support the Caloundra Chamber and its members by delivering proactive and engaging storytelling initiatives. This includes creating impactful visual and written narratives that promote events, regional opportunities and advocacy initiatives.
- Set, plan, and implement social media and communication campaigns and strategies
- Develop engaging text, image and video content for our social media accounts
- Build relationships with customers, industry professionals and journalists
Am I the right person for the job?
The successful candidate will ideally be able to demonstrate:
- Persuasive written and verbal communication skills
- Hands on experience with social media management
- A flair for videography and design
- Ability to identify and track relevant social media KPIs
- Attention to detail, critical-thinking, and problem-solving
- Proficiency with digital creation and editing software.
- Qualifications or demonstrated industry success in marketing, communications, journalism, digital media or related disciplines
- A passion for meeting people and a thirst for uncovering and understanding current and future trends for business in our region.
This diverse and busy role means you will be involved in many aspects of the Chamber and will be an integral part of a small team. Occasional after-hours duties are required at our events and at times, there will be a need to travel to other local sites.
