The City’s Community Development Directorate provides a broad range of facilities, services, projects, and events that directly impact the daily lives of our 224,000 residents and visitors.
The Directorate works to develop safe and vibrant places and deliver services and facilities to support a community that is healthy, welcoming, and thriving.
Our Community Safety Team provide a highly visible and responsive Community Safety service in partnership with the Community to contribute to a safe and secure lifestyle and sustainable city.
About the Position
The Engagement Officer works closely with the local community and maintains partnerships with community groups, local schools and WA Police to increase awareness of Community Safety issues and encourage engagement with relevant City of Stirling initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the Engagement Officer will include but are not limited to:
- Deliver community engagement activities and programs to increase awareness of services provided by the Community Safety team.
- Deliver events to engage with the community on safety issues.
- Facilitate and coordinate the development of advertising and marketing campaigns to promote Community Safety issues across the City.
- Assist in the evaluation and the identification of initiatives for program development and improvement.
About You

- Tertiary Qualification in relevant field and/or relevant experience
- Experience working in crime prevention and Community Safety
- Highly developed conflict resolution, networking, and negotiation skills
- High-level customer service skills
- Working With Children Check (Required)

This permanent full-time position is a Level 6 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $82,652.26 - $87,002.29 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a:
- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
