About UTS International
The primary function of UTS International is to support and implement the UTS International Strategy and its broader mission of internationalisation; to achieve UTS targets for recruitment of international students, international student mobility and partnerships; and to provide services to the university.
About The Role
We have two positions available for a Compliance Officer to join our team on a full-time continuing basis!
The Compliance Officer position sits, within the DVC International portfolio and contributes towards the university's international compliance management including maximising the sustainability of our international student program.
The role involves assessing students against Genuine Student (GS) criteria to ensure that UTS recruits quality students to manage our Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF) risk rating and competitiveness in the international market. Compiling and analysing information, monitoring, and reporting on emerging trends and issues relating to GS is an integral part of the role. The position will also be responsible for processing release requests and refunds for commencing students. The incumbent will be required to work flexible hours to suit the requirements of overseas markets.
If successful in applying for this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting Genuine Students (GS) assessments and interviews
- Liaise with the recruitment and admissions team regarding GS checking and requirements.
- Assess and process release requests for UTS and pathway provider applicants.
- Assist with reporting and analysis on emerging SSVF trends.
- Monitor and advise on issues relating to GS checking.
- Provide information, training and guidance on compliance to UTS and UTS College staff.
- Familiarity with the regulatory environment for international students in Australia, including the ESOS Act, National Code and SSVF/GS requirements in a university setting.
- Skills and experience in conducting GS assessment and interviews.
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, identifying emerging trends and reporting.
- Experience in assessment and processing of student release requests
- Strong proficiency using PRISMS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) with demonstrated proficiency creating and managing Excel spreadsheets.
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $91,254 to $98,805 pa (HEW 6)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
