Our client is a Commercial Contractor that has been a long-term operator in the Brisbane area. With a forward-thinking approach, well-established systems, and a great company culture, they have built a strong name for themselves in the industry. Now going through a growth phase, they are looking for a Contract Administrator / Project Manager who can handle a diverse range of construction projects in the Commercial and Industrial sector, with budgets spanning from $5 million to $30 million. This is a great opportunity for a CA looking to take that next step or an experienced Contract Administrator to join an established team.
Your New Role:
In your new role, as a Contract Administrator / Project Manager, you will play a vital role in managing the contractual aspects of projects. Your focus will be on ensuring accurate and efficient contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, fostering clear communication between project stakeholders, and contributing to the overall success of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set project budgets and allocate job codes.
- Review and approve subcontractors' progress claims.
- Manage project-related contract variations, including quotes and claims.
- Handle project maintenance from practical to final completion.
- Negotiate and finalize subcontracts
- Submit extension of time claims when needed.
- Validate and endorse subcontractors' progress claims.
- Generate and submit variation and progress claims to the Client.
- Coordinate project maintenance post-practical completion.
- End to end project management from inception to completion
- Manage project budgets and programs
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Proven experience as a Contract Administrator, particularly in commercial projects
- Sound knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and local regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of relevant construction regulations and standards.
- Familiarity with both commercial fitout and new build projects will be beneficial but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of CHEOPS preferred, but not necessary
