About the position:
Excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley in the role of Coordinator Assets (Buildings). This role undertakes day to day and routine building maintenance, including building asset management, data collection, condition inspections, assets assessments and creation of renewal programs. As part of the renewal programs this position will be responsible for ensuring that our buildings and other relevant assets are safe and fit for purpose, the procurement process, evaluation and appointment of contractors, supervision of works contract and budget management, and expenditures relating to the renewal works.
This position is also responsible for providing general practical advice contributing to the effective coordination of Shire adopted programs, processes and systems for best practice asset management at the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley.
The full package (not including penalties) will be between $103,817 - $108,411 (depending on experience) per annum.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a building or property maintenance role;
- Demonstrated skills in the application of safety practices including hazard and risk management;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively to stakeholders regarding project deliverables and expectations;
- Well-developed time management and organisational skills and ability to work autonomously to establish own individual priorities and provide responsive and timely approach to necessary works, maintenance and communications;
- Well-development supervisory and project management skills in order to oversee and manage project delivery (which includes contractor supervision); and
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to resolve problems and negotiate appropriate outcomes;
- Knowledge of the requirements of AAS27 and asset valuation and depreciation; and
- Tertiary level qualification/s (Diploma preferred) in Property Services (Asset and Facility Management) and Safety Management (Minimum Certificate IV) and/or related fields and/or equivalent industry experience;
- Current WA Driver Licence (or willing to obtain within 3 months)
