Isaac Region covers an area of around 58,000km² comprising 120km of Great Barrier Reef coastline and extending over 400km west to incorporate a rich agricultural and grazing heritage in addition to 27 operating coal mines producing the world's premier metallurgical coal. The region is exposed to a range of global influences and drivers which present unique challenges to the local government professionals who serve it.
Reporting to the Executive Manager - People & Capability, this is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious HR professional to contribute to the overall strategic direction and corporate performance of Isaac Regional Council.
Leading a team of 6 within the People & Capability team, the Coordinator People and Capability Business Partners will ensure that Isaac Regional Council's strategic People and Capability management direction is supported in its foundation. You will be responsible for delivering lean, flexible and effective services supporting all portfolios across the organisation. The four main pillars of this role include frameworks and administration, planning and strategy, coaching and Capability as well as culture and communication.
The ideal candidate must possess a proven ability to influence and foster a positive and productive organisational culture, coupled with contemporary HR/ER experience with solid knowledge of IR process. Tertiary qualified in Human Resources, Business, Employee Relations or significant experience in a HR leadership role will be critical to success. You will also thrive in building the capacity and Capability of the team.
Being highly organised with the ability to prioritise urgent tasks, creative and out-of-the-box thinking and proven experience as a mentor and coach where you have built capacity and Capability will also be essential for success in the role. Local Government experience will be advantageous but is not mandatory.
