The organisation are a highly regarded professional services firm who continue to grow and expand. They have around 40 staff in their Melbourne operations now and have fantastic offices in the CBD close to main transport links. The culture is friendly and professional, and they are always open to training and development opportunities for new employees.
The Role
This is initially a maternity cover position and would likely be offered as a 9 month fixed term contract. However, with the business expanding, the expectation is that a longer term opportunity will become available in the team after the 9 months is up.
The position would be based in Melbourne CBD and would report directly to the CFO.
While duties may change from time to time depending on workload, some common responsibilities would likely include:
- Accounts payable and expense management activities
- Leading month end duties including general ledger reconciliations and journals
- Preparing profit and loss, balance sheet reports, cashflow statements and relevant budgets/forecasts
- Preparation of annual financial statements and assisting with external audit
- Liaising with external funds administration team
- Continuously assessing, managing and improving financial processes
- Assisting with other ad hoc tasks as required
The position will require regular liaison with Partners and senior management within the firm as well external clients on occasion.
It's a varied and challenging position within a great team and a highly professional organisation.
Interviews will take place throughout early April and the successful applicant will likely commence in May. This role will be initially 5 days on site in the CBD though working from home one day per week may be an option after initial training.
Your Profile
You will have a background in Accounting and Finance with a minimum of 4 years experience in a similar position. The following attributes will also be highly advantageous:
- Experience with end of month financial reporting and general financial accounting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to asset management is a bonus but not essential
- Comfortable working in the CBD
- Able to commit to a 9 month contract position
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards
