Job Title: Credit Officer

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Credit Officer to join our team. The Credit Officer will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, and managing credit risk associated with lending activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate creditworthiness of individuals applying for personal loans or car loans.
- Analyse financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation to assess risk and determine credit decisions.
- Conduct thorough due diligence and risk assessments to identify potential red flags and mitigate credit risk.
- Collaborate with Sales Agents, Brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing of credit applications.
- Work with the Credit Team Leader to monitor existing credit portfolios to identify emerging risks and take proactive measures to address issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments impacting credit risk management.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues on credit-related matters, including credit analysis techniques and risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist in preparing comprehensive credit reports and presentations for management and regulatory purposes.
- Foster positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and external partners to enhance the overall credit process and customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Financial Services, with hands-on exposure to credit analysis, personal loans, risk management, or related roles within the industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of lending principles, credit risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g. NCCP, RG 209).
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.
