About the role

Nederman is seeking a dedicated team player to join our Bayswater-based team as a Customised Solution Sales Manager. In this role, you will drive strategy to exceed sales goals, liaising with clients to close deals, manage accounts, and adapt strategies.

Other key responsibilities include

  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory and market segment to generate new business for the Nederman MikroPul Process Technology Division’s products and services.
  • Follow up leads, maintain current quoted opportunities and successfully manage the sales process to closure.
  • Develop and nurture relationships, meet with EPC’s, end-users and OEM’s to determine their specific requirements.
  • Work with the Sales Team to build customised solution concepts and prepare creative and effective proposals.
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing for quotations and prepare cost estimates. 
  • Consistently meet monthly sales goals through proper preparation and execution of a sales activity plan. Work leads & opportunities through CRM.
  • Maintains the project pipeline, quote log, and customer contact information in CRM.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and department policies on risk management.
  • Promote and Market the Nederman MikroPul Process Technology Brand. Participate in annual trade shows nationally and regionally as applicable.
  • Prospect and develop new sales opportunities by networking with key industry contacts and increasing brand awareness. Assist in the development of annual marketing and key customer Business Plans.
  • Profitably manage key accounts to build stronger relationships and successfully secure future business. Liaise closely with these key accounts to ensure existing installations are meeting their expectations.
  • Work closely with the Business Manager to grow the business with a team approach and collaborate with Business Manager for the creation of Annual and monthly Sales Budgets, and Activity Plans.
  • Work with other team members to implement local and global strategies. Routinely provide reports and feedback to management on sales forecast, activity levels and competitive landscape within the targeted industries. Within this report, provide recommendations on how to alter the business strategy and technology offering to increase sales and market presence.
  • Participate in bi-weekly meetings and provide current progress reports and adjusted sales forecasts for month and year.
  • Lead a supportive team culture of open and honest communication, collaboration and support that is aligned with Company values and expected behaviours.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business Degree desirable. 
  • Three to five years of experience selling technical solutions in an industrial environment.
  • General knowledge of industrial ventilation design on standard air applications.
  • Two years of experience within the air pollution control market.
  • Proven technical sales skills, including the ability to generate leads and close sales (including a strong understanding of the sales process).
  • Product knowledge.
  • Strong leadership qualities with good communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Sound planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong business development skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Excellent presentation, selling, and closing skills.
  • Thorough understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements in Core Markets. 
  • Intermediate computer skills with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Quote Tools, and CRM. AutoCAD skills are helpful.
  • Expert knowledge in the sales process of capital equipment and technical solutions.
  • Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
