The Opportunity
We are in an exciting stage of growth and have a one-of-a-kind opportunity for a General Manager - Operations to join our senior leadership team.
This is a role that will have direct accountability for leading a high performing team of engineers and specialists focused on the ongoing support of our data Centre operations. This position oversees all aspects of our service delivery and Data Centre operations and manages change risk and security compliance across our Data Centre portfolio.
- Manage a team of facility engineers and Security personnel responsible for a large complex and geographically dispersed Multi-Megawatt Tier III Data Centre environment.
- Provide high levels of availability whilst ensuring ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage service delivery operations and participate in resource planning.
- Investigate and implement changes, tools and new technologies to enable the business to scale effectively and profitably.
- Provide feedback and drive improvements in provisioning processes and automation, identify product opportunities and limitations, ensure there is adequate training and product documentation.
- Develop and maintain exceptional work health and safety protocols to ensure uninterrupted services to our customers and highest levels of EHSQ compliance.
What you will bring
Relevant technical Qualifications– Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Science
- 10+ years of experience in the Service Provider/Data Centre industry is highly regarded
- Experience in managing DC infrastructure and leading teams of skilled engineering personnel
- Operational/Process Improvement - developing a team to operational maturity
- Experience managing complex delivery environments including workforce forecasting
- Ability to translate technology solutions and concepts, so as to be understood by non-technical stakeholders
- Able to build strong cross company relationships to influence and drive outcomes
- Expert problem solving skills, and ability to resolve complex issues, utilising varied resources and subject matter experts across multiple technology groups
- Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans
- Ability to work and manage people with perseverance and professionalism in high pressure time focused situations.
