Job description

Suncorp Group have an opportunity for a Desktop Investigations Officer to support the Personal Injury claims business on the delivery of intelligence gathering to support claims management and investigations. Key aspects of the role include conducting effective research to report on valuable information for Personal Injury claims and completes assigned Desktop Investigations, including evidence collection, review, and reporting.
This is a 16-month secondment.
What you'll do

  • Conduct investigative information searches utilising a variety of databases for various customers in Claims.
  • Reviews the stakeholders requests and conducts a comprehensive and cost-effective searches to provide the data.
  • Verifies the accuracy of the data and prepares investigative search findings for the stakeholder and assists in interpreting the results.
  • Act as liaison to Personal Injury Claims in the investigation of any claims involving the use of social media
  • Develop a range of investigative and intelligence outputs, providing insight into relevant Personal Injury Claims whilst supporting intelligence and investigation outcomes
  • Maintain intelligence holdings to ensure accurate decision making and investigative action
  • Deliver intelligence rich information to support decision making across Personal Injury Claims
  • Proactively seek access to information systems and/or intelligence sources that aids informed claims handling strategies
  • Support datamining for Personal Injury Claims related requests for information, as appropriate
  • Support Intelligence Analysts and Senior Investigation Advisors to identify and apply tactical, operational and strategic responses to support fraud risk mitigation strategies in Personal Injury
What you'll bring
  • Proven expertise in fraud intelligence would be preferred
  • Experience undertaking investigations utilising public databases, social media, and open source intelligence would be desirable
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills when collating information
  • Strong customer service ethos and ability to meet expectations of both external and internal customers from an intelligence support, information management and analysis support perspective
  • Clear understanding or ability to acquire a clear understanding of relevant Personal Injury Claims legislation and regulations
  • Ability to contribute as a member of a team by working collaboratively with others to achieve organisational goals, with objectivity and impartiality
  • Proven skill in information collection and collation in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of intelligence processes and procedures.
  • Competent in the use of IT systems and software, with demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • A sound understanding of various social media platforms and social media trends would also be an advantage
