About the Role:
As the Director of Development, you will be responsible for providing the leadership skills to establish and grow the company's project pipeline. To do so, you will be commercially minded with a strong understanding of local market factors including landowner agreements, grid connections, PPAs, construction risk and commercialisation options around BESS, Solar and ideally wind projects. In addition, you will be expected to grow, lead and manage a high-performing team to advanced projects throughout the project lifecycle, into operations.
Skills and experience:
- Create and analyse new development opportunities for utility-scale solar, wind, and battery projects while monitoring the existing development pipeline
- Evaluate routes to market for the electrical output of projects under development by the Company, including availability and cost of suitable grid connections
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects to ensure that financial objectives are achieved
- Contact private and public stakeholders and authorities
- Lead and promote Project Development work across Australia in different Renewable Energy technology
- Ability to strategize, recruit, train, and lead team members and tier 1 consultants
- Define strategic planning, goals, and tactics, including preparing and presenting an annual proposed operating and development capital expenditure budget
- Support management team in negotiations, preparations, and project financing
- Building good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Represent and be the face of the brand in Australia.
