About the role
Reporting to the General Manager - Projects NSW, the Development Manager will be involved in the development of a masterplanned community. The project includes elements of residential, commercial, enterprise, mixed-use and community-use land.
This person will be responsible for assigned project(s) and providing direction to all internal and external stakeholders throughout the life-cycle of the development, including:
- Development master planning
- Statutory approvals (e.g. DA, CC, authority approvals, etc.)
- Financial and cash-flow management
- Design development
- Construction
- Registration and settlement
The role requires an understanding of Risland’s principles and objectives and ensuring these are embodied within the developments themselves and form part of the delivery process.
The Development Manager ensures the delivery of assigned developments within the parameters established at board approval. This will require the implementation of all established procedures and the implementation of any project specific execution plans. This person will take on the responsibility for the commercial outcomes/performance and be able to manage and report risks and provide acceptable mitigation strategies for each development.
Skills and experience
This person must be competent with feasibility management and cost control throughout the development lifecycle and have a good understanding of property development software such as Estate Master.
- Maintain and implement project/development execution plans
- Understanding of the planning process regarding masterplanned communities and subdivision projects.
- Competent with feasibility management and cost control throughout the development lifecycle.
- Manage and report risks, as well as provide acceptable mitigation strategies
- Identify opportunities for value improvement beyond pure project delivery.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the property industry, 3 years of which were spent in a property development role.
- NSW market knowledge and land subdivision experience.
- With relevant tertiary qualifications in either property development or a relevant business degree.
