We are working with a leading Builder / Developer who are looking to recruit a Project / Development Manager for their Australia and NZ Operations. Projects are that of an Industrial and Agricultural nature.
This role reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Construction Manager to provide expert advice across construction, compliance and regulatory matters.
Experience in strategic planning and financial control is critical. This role is pivotal to the overall success of the construction program to ensure sound construction practices, timely results and compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements of large scale construction sites.
Key Duties of this role include
- Sourcing land
- Commencing the DA process
- Design through to budgeting
- Tendering
- Pre-commencement regulatory compliance
- Construction regulatory compliance
- Maintaining excellent external relations with regulatory stakeholders to deliver projects on time and on budget
- Assessing risk and providing accurate information to ensure mitigate risk
There is a Development pathway in this role to work closely with the CEO and ultimately lead the full Development Function.
Key accountabilities include
- EIS and DA data sourcing
- Managing external consultants
- Civil, fire, water, building design input
- Pre-construction regulatory condition fulfilment
- Regulatory compliance throughout construction
- Commissioning and obtaining occupation certificates
- Final site demobilisation
Experience
- Self-Starter with ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to communicate across all levels
- Proven project management experience
- Proven Construction and building experience
- Commitment to Safety Culture
- High level interpersonal skills and superior negotiating and conflict resolution skills
- Proven ability to critically analyse complex issues, think laterally and solve problems
- Ability to read a construction budget and actuals vs budget performance
- Experience managing contracts is advantageous
The person needs to be able to work independently and manage their own workload.
This role is based full time in the North Sydney office and does not offer a WFH arrangement. The role is 5 days per week with some travel anticipated at 2-3 days per week on the road.
