Purpose of the Function
Reporting to the Head of Women, Equity & DFV, the DFV Project CoordinatorTech Abuse is responsible for leading the Anti-Slavery Project as per grant agreement and workplan which includes development of resources, develop and deliver education sessions using Multicultural Service Officers (MSOs, training and supervision of MSOs in relation to information sessions, drive an understanding of Tech Abuse and mitigation strategies. Contribute to the team’s strategic work around DFV.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have experience developing and implementing programs, including effective planning and building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. You will have a sound understanding of how technology can be misused to cause harm and an interest in online safety issues facing Australians, particularly women and children in the context of DFV.
You will also have a high level of personal drive and ability to work collaboratively and lead others to achieve shared goals. You will have a flexible mindset and be adept at identifying and weighing potential solutions to problems as they arise.
Responsibilities:
Research issues relevant to Tech Abuse and be part of DFV networks as relevant. Investigate Tech Abuse issues in CALD communities among settlement providers and assist them to recognise Tech Abuse.
Develop educational resources including several scenario-based vignettes to be used for community education across several communities.
Identify suitable resources and adapt and translate information, training and communication materials, if necessary, that assist in explaining Tech Abuse. Modify what exists as necessary.
Develop a training module for community education and train and coordinate MSOs so that they can deliver education on Tech Abuse in NSW and Qld. primarily.
Organise and coordinate information sessions/opportunities to provide education to community groups and ensure MSOs will deliver.
Support and contribute to the work of SSIs internal DFV committees, the strategic DFV meeting, the Women and Girls Strategic Plan, and other projects that arise from time to time.
Participate in the broader activities of SSI and the Division of SSI the role sits within.
Other duties as directed from time to time within your skills range and capacity.

Essential Criteria
Relevant Tertiary Degree or equivalent experience
Coordination and logistical skills
Community education background and skills
Experience and understanding of DFV, gender equality and/or settlement sector
Highly developed interpersonal skills to relate to multicultural communities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including drafting of education materials
Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with internal & external stakeholders
Experience in developing service scenario based materials suitable for case study snapshots is DESIRABLE
Knowledge of Tech Abuse, and exposure to the field of Tech Abuse in DFV is DESIRABLE
