Casey Tech School is part of a network of 16 Tech Schools across Victoria. Casey Tech School is a shared learning facility that delivers high-tech, leading edge courses to students from a cluster of secondary schools in the Casey local government area (LGA).
Since 2018, Casey Tech School has achieved much success in delivering innovative and real-world education programs in partnership with local industries and community groups, helping to prepare students for the jobs of the future. Our programs emphasise the vital Enterprise and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) skills needed for the 21st century.
Chisholm is Victoria’s premier public vocational education and training provider, with campuses located across Melbourne and the south east.
Each year, we welcome some 35,000 students from over 43 culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. ABOUT THE ROLE
Casey Tech School aims to prepare students for the jobs of the future, equip them with the skills to thrive in a digital world, and inspire them to create a better future for themselves and their communities. Casey Tech School is hosted on the Berwick campus of Chisholm Institute and is funded by the Victorian Department of Education.
The Director is responsible for engaging, influencing and embedding the Tech School to be in service of the local Casey partnership of Government, Independent and Catholic secondary schools. Managing compliance, business, human resources, governance, curriculum and reporting, the Director collaborates and consults with the Department of Education, Chisholm Leadership Group and Casey Tech School Committee to ensure success.
Your key accountabilities will be to:
- Create and implement business plans, ensuring budget objectives and milestones are met and reported to the key lead organisations: the Casey Tech School Committee, the Department of Education and Chisholm Institute.
- Develop strategic partnerships with industry and other educational organisations that enable learners to pursue enhanced pathways and create market leading educational products that anticipate future workforce needs.
- Lead the Tech School team to deliver responsive education and training programs to meet Tech School and Chisholm objectives for positive student, industry and community outcomes.
- Effectively lead a high performing business area by fostering a culture of accountability, productivity, continuous improvement, customer centric and educational excellence.
- Collaborate with the Department of Education, Casey Tech School Committee and the Institute to manage the establishment, design and implementation of the facility.
- Ensure strict operational and strategic compliance with all criteria from the Department of Education’s Tech Schools Performance Evaluation Framework.
- Manage the collaboration with and development of key stakeholder partnerships to implement and renew educational delivery strategies and responsive delivery models.
- Develop educational solutions for students and other clients meeting industry requirements.
ABOUT YOU
You have a deep commitment to working with industry, advisory committees and governance structures to achieve strategic and operational objectives, including consultation, engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders.
With a proven depth of experience in STEAM industries, you have demonstrated development of innovative educational delivery models that target and meet current needs of clients and industry.
Your exceptional people leadership and management skills are supported by your excellent written and verbal communication skills and understanding of financial management principles.
You will have a graduate degree level qualification (or higher) in Education and/or Graduate level qualifications (or higher) in either Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Mathematics. It is desirable that you have a qualification in any of either Healthcare, Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing, Renewable and Clean energy industries.
Crucial to your success will be deep knowledge of contemporary pedagogies in education delivery and program development in STEAM education.
