The position is responsible for:
- advising the commission on setting the strategic direction of the Compliance and Enforcement functions, including establishing annual Compliance and Enforcement priorities.
- leading the Compliance and Enforcement group overall functioning, including:
- managing the effective recording of breach reports and complaints
- providing compliance guidance to industry
- developing strategic compliance projects
- overseeing investigations, including the exercise of compulsory investigative powers
- managing enforcement outcomes, including penalty notices, enforceable undertakings, civil litigation and criminal prosecutions.
- managing a group of approximately 22 staff, including 5 or 6 direct reports, to ensuring the effective management of the Compliance and Enforcement group's resources.
- overseeing the ongoing professional development of the Compliance and Enforcement group.

- administering the Victorian Energy Upgrades program.
