Job description

Enable the branch to be dynamic and adaptable to identify issues early, be a thought leader on issues and respond to government priorities and energy market and industry shifts.

Position details

The position is responsible for:

  • advising the commission on setting the strategic direction of the Compliance and Enforcement functions, including establishing annual Compliance and Enforcement priorities.
  • leading the Compliance and Enforcement group overall functioning, including:
  • managing the effective recording of breach reports and complaints
  • providing compliance guidance to industry
  • developing strategic compliance projects
  • overseeing investigations, including the exercise of compulsory investigative powers
  • managing enforcement outcomes, including penalty notices, enforceable undertakings, civil litigation and criminal prosecutions.
  • managing a group of approximately 22 staff, including 5 or 6 direct reports, to ensuring the effective management of the Compliance and Enforcement group's resources.
  • overseeing the ongoing professional development of the Compliance and Enforcement group.
