Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), are dedicated to helping communities prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from the impact of fire and emergency events. As the primary provider of fire, rescue, and emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland, they encompass various departments, including the Fire and Rescue Service, disaster management services, the Rural Fire Service, and the State Emergency Service.
Purpose of the Role:
As the Frontline Solutions and Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and delivering frontline business solutions and systems that directly support Fire and Rescue Service, State Operations, and Rural Fire Service. Reporting to the Executive Director of Information and Technology, you will provide leadership and direction across all functions of the branch, ensuring that solutions and platforms align with the department's IT vision and strategy. Key accountabilities will include:
- Leading and managing the provision of frontline services and solutions to support the department's strategic and operational objectives
- Driving the implementation of effective solution delivery, including projects, enhancements, and domain architecture, to meet organisational requirements
- Providing strategic advice to senior executives on optimising the frontline application/service portfolio
- Defining and maintaining high-level domain architecture frameworks and principles to guide the enablement and integration of Frontline Solutions
- Identifying and mitigating risks, issues, and dependencies related to frontline applications
- Researching and analysing emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation
- Managing human, financial, and physical resources to drive a culture of accountability and fairness
About you:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
- Proven experience in managing frontline systems project delivery and application enhancements,
- Strong knowledge of application and SaaS, with expertise in designing scalable and secure solutions and services
- Relevant certifications in ITIL, TOGAF, UCD, or Prince2Agile
- Solid analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving successful customer-centric outcomes in complex environments
