Fire Rescue Victoria
Established on 1 July 2020 as part of Victoria’s Fire Services Reforms, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) serves and protects communities from 85 FRV fire and rescue stations across the state. FRV employs circa 5,000 staff geographically dispersed across Melbourne and major Regional Centres across Victoria.
Director Safety & Recovery
We seek a senior executive to lead a highly technical team of direct reports; Manager Safety Services and Manager Recovery Support Services overseeing 30 staff responsible for safety advisory services, return to work programs, WorkCover claims, analytics and performance.
You will enhance and maintain existing FRV Safety systems and Return to Work programs, with a focus on preventative risk management, statutory compliance, financial sustainability, and efficient case management. Prior expertise in delivering similar services within a complex environment of equivalent scale is anticipated.
Highly outcome focused you will ensure the division continually reviews and improves safety, recovery and claims management systems, policies, procedures, frameworks, processes, and programs that align to strategic priorities and key performance indicators. You will evidence prior achievements as a strategic leader who has improved delivery and employee experience across a spectrum of similar services.
You will demonstrate your contribution to fostering a culture that supports a diverse, inclusive and engaged organisation. Your consultative and engaging approach will develop positive and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
It is desirable that the applicant holds Post Graduate qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety (or similar) and a background or extensive experience in Return to Work and Workcover legislation.
