About this exciting opportunity
The perfect role for a HR professional who has had exposure to and has knowledge of diversity and inclusion principles and practices, and/or HR related projects and initiatives to help to drive continuous improvement. This is a 12-month maternity leave replacement opportunity and is an exciting time to join our team as we continue our Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) Athena Swan journey to progress towards Silver accreditation, which focuses on identifying and addressing barriers to gender equity, diversity and inclusion. You will play a contributing role in the enhancement of our HR function and work across a number of key priorities focused to improve HR related activities, including:
- Taking a key role in coordinating and delivering HR projects, particularly Diversity and Inclusion initiatives where you will partner with the Equity Diversity and Gender Equality (EDGE) Group to enhance diversity, inclusion and belonging at AIMS.
- Delivery of reporting requirements from the HRIS to enhance decision making and deliver strategic business insights for a range of internal and external parties.
- Supporting the automation of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) processes and reporting capabilities, with a focus on efficiency improvements and data integrity.
- Supporting the People and Culture team with generalist HR processes and activities, as well as recruitment and administrative support.
About you
We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in the implementation of diversity and inclusion activities who is motivated to make a difference and drive positive change. Holding a tertiary qualification in HR, Business, IT or related field, you will have broad generalist HR experience and will have contributed to the delivery of people related projects. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be highly autonomous, and can apply your can-do mindset to deliver outcomes, as well as having:
- Experience with HR analytics, with the capability to prepare reports and interpret statistical data with a people focused lens,
- Knowledge using TechnologyOne software, or the willingness and ability to learn new technologies with a proactive and motivated approach,
- Strong communication and collaboration skills both in a team environment and across all levels of the organisation, and
- A continuous improvement mindset to support improving HR services and processes.

- AIMS AOF Level 3 Enhanced salary ($70,822 to $88,786 per annum), plus 15.4% superannuation.
- Full-time, 12-month Temporary (Labour Hire) Maternity leave replacement officer opportunity.
- Located in Townsville, Queensland or Perth, Western Australia.
- 9-day fortnight.
