An opportunity is now available for a Draftsperson to join a leading residential builder that has worked for decades servicing the northern and western corridors of Melbourne. Adapting to current housing markets and focusing on the design and development of residential homes they service clients from the first home buyers through to the investor.
The Position
Due to growth and a strong pipeline, they now require an additional Draftsperson to join their dedicated team of professionals located in their northern suburbs-based office.
Overseeing and respecting the client’s expectation by delivering the best quality home on time within budget and to the required safety standards this position will see you ensuring variations are possible, drawing client changes and site plans from master plans to preparing for preliminary quotation. This position will also see you responsible for but not limited to:
Ensuring drawings meet estate guidelines
Ensuring drawings meet a high standard
Converting prelim drawings to working drawings
Preparing plans and documentation for submission
Upkeep of Master Plans
Drawing special details for current and new options
Designing of new floor plans and facades
Working closely with the estimating and administration staff to achieve the best result for the clients and the business
The Successful Candidate
This position will suit someone who enjoys working as part of a team while taking ownership of their own workload. With a focus on service delivery and client retention you will bring exceptional time management skills with the ability to work towards deadlines across multiple projects and a passionate and professional approach. All the while, you will be working with a knowledgeable team.
The successful candidate must also demonstrate the following;
Be a Junior-Intermediate Draftsperson with 3-4 years' experience in a similar position
A working knowledge of NCC, relevant Australian standards and local authority requirements
A strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp
A strong knowledge of building volume residential homes, detailing and documentation
A thorough understanding off NCC/Australian Standards, building regulations, town planning, small lot housing code, ResCode etc.,
Creativity and able to think outside the square
Excellent attention to detail and strong and proven communication skills
Relevant Draftsperson/Building Designer tertiary qualifications in building and construction
Be a team player and be an Australian permanent resident with Australian experience
