As a Drawing Management Officer you’ll help find clever solutions to interesting problems as you grow your skills every day. And you’ll do it with down-to-earth people who you’re proud to work with and get to know. Here’s how:
- Develop, implement and maintain technical documents and Drawing Management processes and quality standards to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Investigate, analyse and recommend business and technical solutions to ensure continuous improvement in the Drawing Management process through innovation and adoption of current and emerging digital engineering practices and systems.
- Develop and deliver training in Drawing Management processes to ensure field staff are trained and proficient.
- Design drafting conducted in accordance with Australian Standards, Engineering Standards, Acts, Regulations, Legislation and Codes.
- Maintain the integrity of the Powerlink information management system including adherence to nomenclature conventions and CAD standards.
- Timely production of high-quality designs and emergency changes to meet operational constraints within scope and budget.
The community you will join
Based in Virginia, you will provide technical leadership and mentoring for the management of operational drawings. This includes the administration of ‘as built’, final issue drawings and manuals across the Division utilising contemporary digital engineering practices. In addition, you will lead operational work-related planning and drafting activities to meet deliverable milestones and emergency changes.
Your expertise
- Associate Diploma in Electrical and/or Civil/Structural Engineering plus relevant significant experience in technical design drafting and the management of drawing and information systems
- Demonstrated experience in design drafting for high voltage substation environment.
- Highly developed ability to read, understand and check accuracy of drawings and associated design manuals and materials.
- A sound understanding of Electrical and Electronic Engineering terminology and business processes.
- Skilled working knowledge of estimating and scoping pertaining to design drafting activities.
- Skilled knowledge of Engineering Quality Assurance procedures.
- Expert knowledge with CAD systems (MicroStation) software in its application to design drafting.
- Effective knowledge of PC based office tools (Electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, SAP, Objective, SPF, etc).
We’d also love you to have:
- Tertiary qualification in Spatial Science (Geographic Information Systems)
- Certificate IV – Training & Assessment
