Are you a high performing, motivated and experienced Learning and Development professional with program and training design and implementation experience?
The Mental Health and Wellbeing (MHW) Branch has been recently established in the People Services and Wellbeing Division, Defence People Group. The Branch develops strategy, policies and programs that enable the assured and continuous improvement of mental health across the Defence Enterprise by providing evidence based research and advice to improve Defence workforce wellbeing.
The Programs and Implementation Directorate within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch is responsible for the design, development, implementation and promotion of mental health programs and packages.
As Assistant Director Learning and Development - Implementation, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of mental health and wellbeing training materials, policies and processes and lead the implementation of programs by:
- Managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people.
- Providing leadership and strategic direction to coordinate the implementation of evidence-based mental health and wellbeing programs and activities to the Defence workforce;
- Applying expert knowledge in Learning and Development in support of implementation of mental health and wellbeing programs to influence business decisions;
- Building and sustaining effective relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to manage and influence the design, development, implementation and promotion of mental health and wellbeing programs and activities;
- Evaluating programs and initiatives to measure their success, and identify and provide recommendations for future improvement in implementation.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch comprises military members and civilian employees. We are growing into an inter-disciplinary team focused on improving the mental health and wellbeing of the Defence community.
The Programs and Implementation Directorate provides leadership in program development and implementation through consultation and collaboration with Defence Groups and Services, to adopt and monitor mental health and wellbeing activities. We design and coordinate whole-of-Enterprise data-driven programs and promotion activities that are underpinned by contemporary best practice, scientific evidence and lived experience.
