The Administrative Appeals Tribunal is seeking a skilled andcapable manager to assist the Director of Operations in theManagement and leadership of the Canberra Registry. The roleensures the efficient and effective leadership, management andcoaching of Registry staff to achieve high quality services tomembers of the public and Members of the AAT as they undertakeadministrative appeals of commonwealth government decisions.
As part of the registry management team, the role directlysupervises the Team Leaders of Case Management, Member Support inundertaking their duties. The role performs various managementactivities including, recruitment, staff development,performance management, caseload management, and assisting the DirectorOperations in budgeting and optimising registry operations.

- Experience in working in government, courts, tribunals, or legal environments
- Excellent change management and communication skills with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Excellent understanding of customer services
- An ability to understand administrative law in a tribunal environment

The key duties of the position include:
- Strong management experience and ability to translate organisational vision and strategy into operational goals, ensuring the delivery of key priorities consistent with agreed workflow and service delivery standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster and motivate high performing teams through coaching, mentoring, training, and effective performance management, and development.
- Well-developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with proven experience as a highly effective communicator and negotiator.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and exercise sound judgment, including the proven capacity to solve problems, identify opportunities for improvement and to successfully implement change.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to initiate, nurture and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and work with legislative and policy frameworks and apply them to issues, cases, and processes.
The annual salary for this position is from $108,997 - $128,291plus 15.4% superannuation.

Position Eligibility Requirements:
The AAT requires Australian citizenship as a condition ofengagement.
All employees are required to undertake an Australian FederalPolice Check and health assessment.
Mandatory: To be eligible, the successfulapplicant must hold OR be able to obtain and maintain a Baselinesecurity clearance.
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in a fieldof study that might complement the required capabilities ORrelevant experience in a similar work environment.
