This role sits within the Stakeholder Engagement Team. This team is responsible for:
- managing complaints made to the Public Guardian,
- managing internal reviews of decisions,
- managing the Public Guardian's information service where community members call to seek information about the Public Guardian and guardianship.

Key accountabilities/competencies

Working within the Public Guardian division the role provides administrative services to support the Public Guardian's to exercise its legislative roles. These include being appointed as a substitute decision-maker, education and engagement with the community on guardianship and the rights of represented people in relation to the functions of the Public Guardian.


This role sits within the Stakeholder Engagement Team. This team is responsible for:

  • managing complaints made to the Public Guardian,
  • managing internal reviews of decisions,
  • managing the Public Guardian's information service where community members call to seek information about the Public Guardian and guardianship,
  • operating the Guardian Support Unit which provides information to private and enduring guardians
  • provides free community education sessions on guardianship.
  • The role provides a range of administrative tasks, including managing incoming phone calls and reception services to internal and external customers, to support the delivery of quality guardianship services for the Stakeholder Engagement Team.

Key accountabilities

  • Act as a point of contact performing reception services including management of phone calls, counter enquiries and emails from staff and customers and provide a timely and effective information and referral service.
  • Undertake a range of administrative support services relating to the business, including non-complex customer matters, word processing, data entry, preparing correspondence and other meeting papers, taking minutes, maintaining electronic and fi le records and support with meetings and events.
  • Assist with projects and research.

Profile

Location: Can be flexible- Sydney, Parramatta, Gosford, Wollongong. Please mention where you are located.
WFH Flexibility: There will be a mix of working from home and working from the office. We usually work 3 days from the office and 2 from home.

Checks required: fit2work police check, 2 refs, Childstory check and Working with children check.

Key challenges

  • Providing administration, reception, phone and email management, switchboard services to a range of internal and external customers in a high-volume working environment and determining the appropriate response or where to refer the enquiry.
  • Maintaining sensitivity, discretion and a professional manner in handling difficult and complex enquiries and issues.
