ABOUT THE ROLE
Student Equity is responsible for supporting and developing initiatives to encourage a more diverse and inclusive student population to study and succeed at the University. Student Equity sits within the Curriculum & Quality Office which also promotes the continuous improvement of learning and teaching at the University.
This position is funded by the Higher Education Participation & Partnerships Program (HEPPP), which is designed to increase the participation of students from low socio-economic backgrounds, students from regional and remote areas, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in higher education. The role reports to the Manager, Student Equity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administration support to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of student equity activities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collect and collate financial and evaluation data to assure the effective evaluation and reporting of the HEPPP grant and other funding sources as required.
- Provide support for identified Committees and Communities of Practice related to Student Equity pertaining to administration and logistical requirements.
- Support the delivery of equity programs, engagement activities and outreach events, which may include liaising with internal stakeholders, casual staff and Student Ambassadors, coordinating external suppliers, and supporting logistics.
ABOUT YOU
- Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University
- Possession of a Diploma/Certificate IV level qualification with relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education/training.
- Demonstrated strong organisational and administration skills including time management, attention to detail, meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and other computer systems.
- Ability to work respectfully and sensitively with a people from a range of diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Knowledge of the education system (secondary and/or tertiary) and the factors impacting the participation of equity cohorts in university studies
- Possession of a current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
