Organisations across multiple industries are embarking on major ERP modernisation programs to digitally transform their operations. We are seeking experienced ERP Project Managers to lead these complex multi-year initiatives and drive change from the front.

The ERP Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and optimisation of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system within the organisation, managing project timelines and budget.
Provides motivational leadership and oversight to the ERP project team and to all aspects of this multi-year ERP program, and ensuring the successful deployment of the ERP system to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans for ERP implementation, clearly identifying project objectives, resource allocation, timelines, deliverables and milestones.
- Establish and maintain governance controls and compliance measures.
- Lead, manage, and monitor the project team to achieve key milestones and outcomes. Ensure effective management of project activities and workflow, including budget allocation and resource management.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors and subject matter experts to ensure alignment with project objectives and organisational requirements within the project scope.
- Manage project scopes, dependencies, and interdependencies for efficient outcomes.
- Identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to keep the project on track. Coordinate with stakeholders for issues management.
- Recommend innovative initiatives and business improvement strategies.
- Continually review project processes and practices for quality outcomes.
- Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration within the project team. Project team capacity and capability is developed through effective coaching, training, feedback and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate closely with the Change Manager – Digital Transformation for seamless integration.
- Engage with departmental heads, staff members, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, solicit feedback, and foster collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate project updates, milestones, and potential impacts to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner. Specialist advice and information is provided to stakeholders on emerging project issues and recommendations to support project delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, and other project priorities.
- Address stakeholder concerns and ensure alignment with organisational goals and project priorities.
- Oversee vendor performance, deliverables, and adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Develop and implement test plans, scripts, and procedures to validate system functionality, data integrity, and user acceptance.
- Conduct thorough testing of the ERP system to identify and resolve any issues or defects prior to deployment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices throughout the testing process.
- Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, decisions, and outcomes, including meeting agendas, minutes, status reports, and project documentation.
- Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for Shire senior management, and Steering Committee/Project Board, ensuring effective communication of project status and key milestones.
- Capture lessons learned and best practices to inform future ERP initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, facilitating knowledge sharing and process enhancement.
- Interpret, draft, review, and implement policies, procedures, and processes within specialist areas or activities as required, ensuring alignment with project objectives and organisational standards.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management or a related field, or equivalent industry experience in formal Project Management.
- Minimum of 5 years of strong project management experience leading and managing diverse formal and informal teams, delivering complex implementations or transformations, preferably within the Western Australian Local Government or similarly complex environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, demonstrated in navigating the complexities of Local Government services or similar complex business environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement, coupled with a high level of influencing and conflict resolution abilities, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders at all levels and successful negotiation of outcomes.
- Strong contractual analysis and procurement abilities aimed at optimising outcomes for licensing, Software as a Service (SaaS), and vendor consulting. This entails efficient performance management of contracts and procurements to achieve the best possible results.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and driving business value through technology.
- Current ’C’ Class Drivers Licence.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics.
To be considered for a position at the Shire of East Pilbara, applicants must be able to satisfy the following appointment prerequisites by providing:
- Completion of 100-point identification check;
- Production of a valid National Police Clearance of no more that 6-months old;
- Hold the appropriate rights to work in Australia;
- Completion of a pre-employment medical;
