An exciting opportunity awaits for an Events Coordinator to join a high performing Sales and Events team at HOTA. Reporting to the Director Sales and Events, you will be responsible for selling and delivering events and commercial bookings at HOTA, to an exceptional standard. The ideal candidate will hold experience in a similar environment, with strong attention to detail and ability to achieve KPIs.
About the Role:
As the Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting our strategy of poistiing HOTA, Home of the Arts as a leading event venue on the Gold Coast. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, your role will encompass:
- Assist in to driving event bookings for the sales team
- Be responsible for increasing business volume though various channels, including personal selling, inbound enquiries and repeat business
- Attending relevant trade shows, exhibitions and networking events as required
- Driving conversion in the business events market
- Maintaining and updating client and event information in the booking system, Artifax and tracking the sales status of leads
- Creation and issuing of event quotes, proposals and booking contracts
- Delivering on sales strategies to achieve targets and KPIs
- The start to finish management and coordination of events including but not limited to;
- Build out and Issuance of Banquet Event Orders
- Technical requirements, such as AV and lighting
- Event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list and coordinating event entertainment
- Onsite coordinator, such as welcoming guests, directing event set-up and staff communication
- Payment, including invoicing and reconciliation
About You:
- Demonstrated practical experience in a similar Sales or Events environment for at least 3 years
- Demonstrated practical experience in the customer service industry relating to customer service skills and organisational skills
- Demonstrated practical experience in the hospitality industry relating to food and beverage service, function sets, formats and concept development and functions advertising and promotion.
- Advanced office administration and computer literacy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills both internally and externally
- A strong commitment to company values and the ability to work in a team and sales driven environment
- A tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in event management, business or marketing (desirable).
